About Yelapa
Yelapa is a small coastal village, accessible by boat only. It is not an island but the end of a peninsula where roads have not been developed. There are no cars in Yelapa; mules and horses are still used for transportation. Walking is an integral part of the Yelapa experience; everywhere we go is on foot!
Yelapa is steeped in beauty; the beach, the river, the forests, the plants, the birds and the village. This trip requires a lot of walking on uneven terrain. Our hotel is located right on the upper bay and the dining hall is 120 steps up to it or there is a longer, more gradual trail.

The retreat center is in the jungle, surrounded by perfect nature sights & sounds
You can expect to gaze into the perimeter and see colorful birds, butterflies & tacones
Seeing whales in the ocean from your room’s view is common
The air quality is supreme and the night sky is completely clear - pure magic!
Pura Vida Retreat is a place to recharge, replenish and tap into the pure energy of the vibrant jungle and ocean that surround us. With that in mind, the retreat center does not permit alcohol or drugs onsite.

Once you are registered, additional information will be sent out well ahead of time for you to plan all the details of your trip!
If you want to start looking at airfares once you are registered, I recommend that you arrive in Puerta Vallarta on Saturday afternoon, Apr. 13th, 2024, and depart from PV on Saturday afternoon, April 20, 2024 or even Sunday the 21st. This will allow you to have adequate time for cabs and water taxis and such.
