Therapist accepting clients

Rachel Staley, AMFT, is a holistic psychotherapist who provides online therapy to adults, adolescents/teens, and couples across California. She specializes in supporting individuals navigating the effects of childhood trauma, intergenerational wounds, and dysfunctional family systems. Rachel works with clients who feel stuck in patterns that often show up as anxiety, depression, low self-worth, people-pleasing, or relationship challenges. She offers a safe, collaborative, and empowering space where clients can explore their experiences at a pace that feels manageable and grounded.

As a therapist who lives and works abroad as a digital nomad, Rachel brings a unique global perspective to her work. She enjoys working with remote professionals, expats, and individuals who feel rootless, in-between, or disconnected from a sense of home.

Rachel holds a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Temple University. After working in clinical research and beginning her own journey of healing from a high-conflict family of origin, she developed a deep understanding of how unresolved trauma can shape our inner world. These experiences inspired her passion for helping others heal and live more connected, authentic, and fulfilling lives.

Rachel’s clinical approach is rooted in Narrative Therapy, with a trauma-informed, strengths-based, relational lens. She helps clients explore and re-author the stories they’ve internalized about themselves, often shaped by early experiences and survival strategies. She also incorporates inner child work and somatic practices to support nervous system regulation and cultivate safety in both the mind and body.

Rachel is committed to anti-oppressive, culturally responsive care and honors the impact of systemic, cultural, and intergenerational trauma on mental health. She is an affirming ally to the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities and creates an inclusive, empowering environment where all parts of a person’s identity are welcomed and supported.

Whether you’re new to therapy or returning with new insight, Rachel invites you to schedule a free consultation call!
